Web shop for a product sold in 100+ variants

A production web shop for a brand that sells its own product in more than 100 variants, used by over 1,000 customers. The goal: make choosing the right variant simple, keep pages fast and let the client run everything without a developer.

The challenge

One product, more than 100 variants. Each combination has its own price, images and stock, and a buyer should never feel lost picking between them.

At the same time the store had to load fast, rank in search without hundreds of near-duplicate pages, and let the client update products and content on their own.

What I built

  • A Next.js storefront with statically generated pages, so product pages load fast
  • A variant picker that updates price, images and availability as options change, with a shareable URL for every combination
  • Strapi CMS where the client manages products, variants, images and content without a developer
  • A Django backend for orders, checkout logic and business rules
  • SEO built in: product structured data, canonical URLs that keep variants from competing with each other, metadata and a sitemap

I worked directly with the client from the first version and keep shipping new features and maintenance as the store grows.

Outcome

The store serves more than 1,000 customers, the client manages the whole catalog on their own, and new variants go live without any code changes.
